Toronto, Ontario: After constant ups and downs, experts agree that the forecast for gold prices in 2018 is looking optimistic. Vince Lanci, founder of Echobay Partners, said to the media that we may see the metal hitting US$1,700 an ounce or even higher in 2018. Phil Flynn, senior analyst with Price Futures Group, supports the positive predictions with a more conservative US$1,500 an ounce. “This is great news for small investors, especially for people that have gold at home and have been hesitating about selling it,” said Oren Kravchik, Owner of Oren Jewellery, gold, diamond and silver buyer in Canada. “If you are in this situation, this is a great year to sell, as you’ll get considerably more money than what you would have gotten in previous years,” he added.
In 2017, gold prices finished the year strong after a long period of fluctuation. While last year may establish itself as a period of transition for gold, 2018 may be remembered as the year gold gained back it’s predominance by hitting a higher price.
Meanwhile, silver is also expected to have a great year. Michael J. Kosares, founder of USAGOLD, forecasts a 30% increase during the course of the year. This means that silver could move from the current US$17 an ounce to over US$22 an ounce.

Although gold and silver prices are constantly changing, the forecasts indicate that prices will keep going up, increasing the value of your old jewellery and any decoration or piece made of these metals.
