BAM Outsource Reflects on This Year’s Eurovision Song Contest
This year’s Eurovision held in Baku, Azerbaijan, saw Sweden’s Loreen winning with a dance track ‘Euphoria’.

BriefingWire.com, 5/31/2012 - BAM Outsource found the Eurovision Song Contest to be an excellent way to put aside the recent problems felt in the Eurozone over the European economy. Europe was instead able to sit with friends and enjoy the Eurovision fun. This year’s winner Sweden swept away the rest of the competition by gaining an astonishing 372 points, proving that modern music is the most popular in the Eurovision contest.

Our own entry into the competition was by Engelbert Humperdinck, he was the first act of the night and sang ‘Love will set you free’. Unfortunately his romantic ballad style song was not well received, and he only gained 12 points. In the end the UK came second from bottom, with only Norway scoring less. Other highlights of this year’s competition, as chosen by BAM Outsource employees were Jedward for Ireland and Germany’s entry by Roman Lob, whose song was actually written by British Jazz musician Jamie Cullum.

Although BAM Outsource believed Eurovision was just as entertaining as, there have been some calls for the UK to pull out of the contest. Television presenter Phillip Schofield has publicly stated that he believes there is no place for the UK in the Eurovision song contest as it is “too political”. Although there is talk that a Robbie Williams entry for 2013 could change all that, and lead the UK to victory regardless of the certain blocks of countries that usually vote for each other.

A spokesperson from BAM Outsource commented that, “The problem with Eurovision is that the majority of popular British artists do not want to be tainted by competing as it is seen by many as a tasteless competition. If we were able to send a popular music star to the competition, here at BAM Outsource we believe there is no reason why the UK could not be crowned the winners”.

The spokesperson continued, “We’ll have to wait and see what happens before next year’s Eurovision contest is held in Sweden but hopefully Britain will remain part of Eurovision as it is an informal way of being part of the Eurozone, which we shouldn’t be excluded from.”

BAM Outsource is a Peterborough based marketing company with a difference. It provides explosive results for their clients around the UK.
