BriefingWire.com, 12/20/2018 - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Gloucestershire, UK - The builder’s merchant firm Travis Perkins has just invested over £7,000,000 for 500 new JCB machines for its Tool Hire division.

Travis Perkins has bought a fleet of Mini Excavators & One Tonne High Tip Site Dumpers to strengthen it’s national tool hire business. This brings the firms overall investment of JCB machines to over 2,700 in the past 10 years alone.

Supplied by the Watling plant of JCB, the new machines have been delivered across the UK to the different Travis Perkins facilities.

Richard Teller, Watling JCB managing director, said: ”Over recent years we have continued to strengthen our aftermarket business to ensure we provide a market-leading service for Travis Perkins. This order supports our continued investment in enhancing the customer experience when dealing with Watling JCB.”

Catherine Gibson, The tool hire managing director for TP states: “As we continue to invest in our Tool Hire business, it is important we work with suppliers who offer value for money and market-leading innovation for our customers. JCB clearly demonstrates its ongoing commitment to us and to our customers by delivering on both counts.”

Wiltshire Developement Firm adopt the new JCB 7T-1

A residential development contractor in the Wiltshire area that has been campaigning for improved site safety has recently acquired two new JCB 7T-1’s to push the emphasis on site dumper safety.

The Wiltshire base firm is one of the first development firms to take delivery of the 7T-1’s, making it a very exciting delivery for them. The 7T-1 features a full cab making it much more safe in terms of overall operation. The new seven tonne machines from JCB join the fleet of Wacker Neuson site dumpers which also feature cabs.

The firm has plans for the new dumpers, using them predominantly on their new private housing developments. They’ll be used to haul aggregate & spoil around their site.

Following a fatal incident in 2016, the chairman of the firm has been at the forefront of health & safety when it comes to construction. The push to improve health & safety when it comes to construction sites comes from a place of wanting to improve sites nationally to rid the industry of accidents related to the operation of site dumpers.
