SPRINGFIELD, IL – The Illinois Conservation Foundation (ICF) announced the selection of Lynn Sanders as ICF’s 2017 Conservation Author of the Year for her book Dancing with Tex: The Remarkable Friendship to Save the Whooping Cranes. This touching true-life story about ornithologist George Archibald’s multi-year quest to successfully breed an endangered whooping crane is written as an inspirational conservation story for 6 to 9-year old children and includes educational content. Schenck said. “Lynn does a remarkable job of integrating details about Archibald’s effort to get Tex to lay a fertile egg to save the Whooping Cranes from extinction. The teacher's guide features ready-to-use lesson plans and classroom teaching tips."
