Former NASCAR driver and racing analyst Kyle Petty has chosen The Phoenix Marriott Tempe at the Buttes hotel in Tempe, Ariz. as the final destination for this year’s multi-state fundraising ride. Now in its 19th year, the Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America is an annual fundraising motorcycle ride led by Petty, that benefits Victory Junction, a camp created to enrich the lives of children with chronic medical illnesses. This year over 175 riders will accompany Petty on his fundraising ride, including retired football player Herschel Walker.The week-long, multi-state motorcycle ride starts on April 27, 2013 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and crosses four western states with more than 2,100 miles traversed before reaching its destination at the Phoenix Marriott Tempe at The Buttes resort in Tempe, Arizona around 3:15pm on May 3, 2013. Locals and fans are encouraged to come out for photographs and autographs and to cheer on the team of 175+ motorcyclists as they ride into town and into the resort.
Fundraising for Victory Junction takes place along the entire route and fans and spectators are encouraged to visit the daily fuel stops and overnight locations along the way to meet Petty and show support for the program. In addition to riding, fans may help by raising awareness or donating to the Charity Ride’s efforts via the “Small Change, Big Impact” program. Petty and fellow riders have previously stayed at The Phoenix Marriott Tempe at the Buttes hotel during their charity ride and selected the Tempe hotel as this year’s destination due to its location, amenities and service.

Top of the Rock, the hotel’s premier restaurant, has chosen the Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America as April’s Charity Dinner recipient. Each month Top of the Rock offers a special prix-fixe dinner with a portion of the proceeds going to chosen charity. Throughout the month of April 2013, Top of the Rock is offering a three-course dinner featuring grilled flank steak and crab cake for $34.95 plus tax and gratuity with $5.00 of each dinner sold to be donated to the Kyle Petty Charity Ride.
