Transvaginal Mesh Lawsuit News: Ethicon Cases Progressing in Federal Court
The Gynecare Prolift Mesh Lawsuit Center is currently offering the latest updates on news related to Prolift vaginal mesh lawsuits and side effects.

BriefingWire.com, 10/28/2013 - Ethicon’s vaginal mesh lawsuits are progressing in U.S. District Court in West Virginia. The Gynecare Prolift Mesh Lawsuit Center notes that Ethicon is the only one of six major mesh manufacturers in the transvaginal mesh lawsuit consolidations that is reportedly not involved in mass settlement talks.

Judge Joseph R. Goodwin’s most recent judicial order sets a schedule for future joint status conferences. The next one is Nov. 7 in Charleston, W.Va, according to court documents (C.R. Bard, American Medical Systems, Boston Scientific, Ethicon, Cook and Coloplast; MDLs-2187, 2325, 2326, 2327, 2440 and 2387; U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia).

Settlement talks for tens of thousands of mesh lawsuits are said to be centered around C.R. Bard, Endo Health Solutions (American Medical Systems), Boston Scientific Corp., Coloplast and Cook Medical, according to a Sept. 30 Bloomberg article, though the report did not offer any specifics about a settlement value or a timeline for settlement. Nevertheless, so far in 2013 Endo has already paid out more than $50 million in vaginal mesh settlements. Ethicon was not a reported participant at presstime.

The Gynecare Prolift Mesh Lawsuit Center website also features video updates of mesh news and information on how to contact an attorney to discuss qualifications for filing a vaginal mesh lawsuit. Women who were implanted with vaginal mesh are filing lawsuits alleging they suffered from one or more adverse side effects such as pain and discomfort and device erosion, in addition to other side effects, according to court documents. Vaginal mesh products allow doctors to treat pelvic organ prolapse and stress urinary incontinence.
