The misnomer that the CBC (Congressional Black Caucus) is the exclusive representation for Blacks in America must be reassessed. The fallacy birthed out of its 46-year history has derailed previous historic measurements by our ancestors ripping up the path of achievement, leaving gaping holes of uncertainty and facing a dark crossroad. CAAP members and supporters throughout the United States are convening Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the National Press Club 529 14th Street in Washington, D.C. @ 10:00 a.m. in the Bloomberg Room to demand not only an apology, from every elected black official who selectively participated in the childish subterfuge by looking at the floor, sulking in their seats, and displayed the ultimate sophomoric behavior. Which, is a just cause to demand “REPRESENT or GO AWAY.” Our hashtag #representorgoaway being promoted on social platforms will remain throughout the midterm as we roll out our national campaign to elect commonsense officials who will take care of the people’s business. CBC - you will not ease into the midterm without merit.
IT IS TIME TO DECIDE: If we ever needed an evolution of consciousness, it is now. What began 46 years ago in March 1971 has morphed into the greatest breach of trust, in the black community since reconstruction. Where loyalty means nothing to those who have it. The Congressional Black Caucus, engaged in an ill-advised demonstration during the Presidential State of the Union Address. It is the worst I have ever witnessed in my life as a black educator, father, and civil rights activist. I have seen this country grow for many decades and shudder to think the existing CBC members are the faces of black leaders for our children and grandchildren. Their behavior stooped to an epic proportion of cowardice. Real leaders lead and demonstrate excellence. Sadly, the CBC members, dereliction of civic duty is the black eye upon our country to the global community and another systemic betrayal to blacks in general that we will not forget. They are NO LONGER RELEVANT!
Black America must seize this moment to write a new narrative for economic growth and destroy the besiegement against our people by Black legislators. The new political agenda and website to sign the OFFICIAL “CROSSROAD” petition will be unveiled at the press conference. Every black politician will be served notice that the AGENDA is changing for Black America. We have had enough of the misrepresentation.
