Under Siege By The Cbc (congressional Black Caucus) The Political Betrayal Of Black America Again
Our Black Politicians did it to us again. The disgrace before the global community by the CBC

Reverend William Owens
BriefingWire.com, 2/12/2018 - Our Black Politicians did it to us again. The disgrace before the global community by the CBC (Congressional Black Caucus) during the State of the Union Address was the worst I have ever witnessed in my life as a black father, educator, civil rights activist and man of faith. Our elected officials’ demonstration of childish behavior; sulking in their seats, texting, pretending to be disinterested, was distasteful. We did not elect children, we thought we had leaders.

This is why CAAP (Coalition of African American Pastors), noted civil rights educator Dr. Alveda King, radio talk host Lonnie Poindexter, black politicians from Texas and VA along with our members and supporters throughout the United States are convening Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the National Press Club, 529 14th Street in Washington, D.C. @ 10:00am in the Bloomberg Room to demand not only an apology from every elected black official who selectively participated in the childish subterfuge and displayed the ultimate sophomoric behavior, but to roll out the new Black Agenda for 2018. Without question, the CBC’s foul demeanor has been a just cause to demand either “REPRESENT or GO AWAY.” Our hashtag #representorgoaway is being promoted on social platforms and will remain throughout the midterm as we roll out our national campaign to elect common sense officials who will take care of the people’s business.

I make a strong plea to the black community to embrace this position with openness and hear us out; we have been sidelined by traitors in Washington and must engage. Many don’t want you to know this, what began 46 years ago in March 1971 has morphed into the greatest breach of trust in the black community since reconstruction. Our precious black children are not on the minds of the Congressional Black Caucus, they care more about the rights of undocumented immigrants and football players who don’t stand for the national anthem than they do about our families and precious children. Last year, my office contacted Congressman John Lewis, Rev. Al Sharpton (who purports himself as a civil rights advocate for the voiceless), and Attorney General Jeff Session pertaining to the documented research conducted by prestigious Yale University researchers that was published in USA Today in 2016. The research documented systemic racism and discrimination against preschool age children, with special emphasis placed upon black boys. Not one has responded to date or called for an inquiry.

Of course, we thought we were experiencing an isolated incident until I discovered the article written in USA TODAY in 2016 by the Yale University Researchers citing this was a national epidemic.

So, in the wake of being misrepresented by black legislators, we are taking this fight back to Washington, where the fraud of representation took place and demand either they represent the people or get out of the way.

To date, over 50 online groups have attached their support to this CAUSE. Join the conversation. You can find the petition at www.caapusa.org.
