ARC Broward Learning Institute Honors Culinary & PATHS Graduates
On Wednesday, July 25, 2012 two culinary students and two PATHS (Professional Advancement through Training and Education in Human Services) students graduated from the ARC Broward Learning Institute.

BriefingWire.com, 8/09/2012 - The sense of accomplishment that comes with graduation and achievement is unlike any other. On Wednesday, July 25, 2012, with their friends and family in proud attendance, two culinary students and two PATHS (Professional Advancement through Training and Education in Human Services) students graduated from the ARC Broward Learning Institute.

Ready to embark upon this next chapter in their lives, the proud graduates are now ready to put their new skill-sets to work. “I am looking forward to beginning my new career as a Chef and continuing to work for ARC Broward’s Traveling Plate supper club,” states graduate Nehemie Nemorin. “Thanks to the training I received at the ARC Broward Culinary Institute, I am now able to work and live a more fulfilled, independent life.”

The Entry Level Culinary Arts Program combines intensive, hands-on food service training with classroom instruction and life-skills classes to prepare students with disabilities or other life challenges for employment and self-sufficiency in the restaurant and hospitality industry. In 2011, ARC Broward served over 65,840 meals to disadvantaged men, women, and children throughout the community and in return, these meal programs serve as a valuable hands-on training opportunity for ARC Broward’s culinary students.

The PATHS Certificate Program provides rigorous, comprehensive training and experience-based learning for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who are qualified to work with individuals with development disabilities and other specialized care needs. Nationally, the human service industry is in crises. The aged and disabled population is growing larger each year, living longer and demanding better services. The number of qualified, trained professionals available to respond to this demand is limited.

“Both programs have an impressive success rate in regards to job placement,” states Carrie Turner, Director of the ARC Broward Learning Institute. “Our programs produce highly qualified individuals who join the workforce in industries that are in need of skilled, confident workers.”

If you are interested in hiring a qualified graduate for current or future job openings or would like to learn more about the ARC Broward Culinary or PATHS training programs, please contact Carrie Turner at cturner@arcbroward.com.
