Attorney Brad Edwards To Present at the 2014 National Crime Victim Bar Association’s National Conference

Fort Lauderdale, FL – Attorney Brad Edwards, a partner in the law firm of Farmer, Jaffe, Weissing, Edwards, Fistos & Lehrman, to present “Who is Responsible for Child Abuse?” at the 2014 National Crime Victim Bar Association’s National Conference, Civil Actions for Criminal Acts, on September 18, 2014 in Miami, Florida.

The conference is held in conjunction with the National Center for Victims of Crime’s 2014 National Training Institute, bringing together up to 1,000 civil attorneys, victim advocates, criminal justice professionals and law enforcement officers who will share their knowledge and experience across disciplines.

Mr. Edwards has passionately upheld the rights of crime victims throughout this legal career. Before entering private practice, Mr. Edwards was lead trial attorney at the Broward County State Attorney’s Office, prosecuting many violent criminals. Since leaving the State Attorney’s Office, Mr. Edwards has continued to devote his practice and his life to fighting for the rights of crime victims, oftentimes in complicated and hotly contested complex civil jury trials.

Mr. Edwards has built a reputation for successfully handling the “civil” litigation aspect of these types of cases and handing over his findings to state and federal prosecutors, who then can pursue the criminal case on behalf of the victims.

Mr. Edwards is a Board Certified Civil Trial Attorney, the highest designation of competence by the Florida Bar, and he has tried more than 75 jury trials. Despite his busy trial schedule, he provides hundreds of hours of pro bono services each year to Victims Advocate Services and victims’ rights groups in Broward and Palm Beach County and throughout the country.

The National Center for Victims of Crime is a nonprofit organization that advocates for victims' rights, trains professionals who work with victims, and serves as a trusted source of information on victims' issues. After more than 25 years, we remain the most comprehensive national resource committed to advancing victims' rights and helping victims of crime rebuild their lives.
