Boca Raton's Kyle Brown, Snuggle Stories Wow the Crowd in Book Competition
"Dumb Waiters: The Awakening" in Final Round of Art Promo Business Opportunity

BriefingWire.com, 1/22/2014 - South Florida debut indie novelist features “Dumb Waiters: The Awakening” of The Coagula Series as a finalist from hundreds of excerpts in an amazing online competition.

The MARSocial Author of the Year Group was established through a new social network for writers in October 2013. Kyle Brown, a California native, was invited to participate by prize-creator Joseph Ephraim. Asking for 500–1,000-word selections of work, authors on a global scale responded, some taking to Twitter to help their peers earn a chance at a motion picture contract with Keeran Vaani Creations.

The film company, currently making and seeking funding for horror indie “Disturbed,” will judge the 60 entries and, giving an opportunity to investors or entrepreneurs, make a difference in many people’s future.

"This is a job-creating experience," said Brown, a passionate resident of Boca Raton. "It’s about artists struggling to get recognized. Publishers will not consider authors who haven’t self-vetted on the internet, so I get super excited to share what was written and know that more than one can benefit, whether actors or readers or people out there who want to invest in any capacity - independent books, independent film. Bringing awareness to books is what defines this as important and beautiful."

Brown submitted a 993-word piece from his eBook, a literary fantasy/supernatural romance epic available on Amazon, centered on a young playwright, cultural mystery and solution-oriented modern life.

"Magick undercover, raw emotion, America, politics, gangland blues, my novel has it all," Brown promotes. "I like to entertain, but also stimulate the mind. I've got a wild perspective, an Irish temper, a story to share. I'm an average guy, beer-gut, pizza, '80s music-cranker, hard-working and I wanted to make a book about our world. Maybe reinvent the wheel, give the audience an interactive part of my spirit. It's a love letter to my sweetheart, Alexa, and in that, a love letter to everyone. It's an honor to be involved with MARSocial and get great exposure for my peers and interact the way that we do."

As the February 1 winner announcement approaches, Twitter continues to light up, the active few stay active, page-views climb consistently, news outlets and ezines take notice, excitement continues growing.

As for Kyle Brown, soon headed back to tweeting and producing his soon-to-be-released second novella: "I submitted ‘Dumb Waiters’ when MARSocial first tried a little week-long battle and made it as a finalist then, with an ezine post for reward. I go in a unique direction as an artist. The MARSocial reviewer complimented me. He said, 'Brown’s writing should be lauded for the atmosphere he creates around his characters, with their voices and little else.'"
