The firm launched its furniture division in 1995 and has since formed solid partnerships with some of the UK’s leading manufacturers, retailers and importers.

Andrew Porter Limited began its furniture logistics provision with a small amount of deliveries for Cavendish Upholstery, which, at the time, was based at the same converted mill in Chorley. Cavendish soon asked Andrew Porter Limited to take on all of its retail deliveries – which the firm still does to this day.

The firm’s white glove home delivery services began a year later, after a request from retailer Witham Furniture in Grantham. And in 1999 Andrew Porter Limited relocated to its purpose built head office and storage warehouse on Huyton Road, Adlington – one of the largest in the north of England.

“We continue to improve our customer offering, with a recent warehouse expansion and rolling refurbishment of all our 30 retail delivery wagons and 20 home delivery vehicles to ensure a consistently smart appearance.”

Andrew Porter Limited has developed a full-package furniture logistics offering which is proving extremely popular with customers, including Perfect Home, HSL and La-Z-Boy UK. This includes warehousing and storage, pick and pack, home and retail delivery and handling of returned goods. The firm can also provide specialist additional services such as coating or painting of furniture or pre-assembly prior to delivery.

Andrew Porter Limited is planning some special celebrations for its 20th anniversary, which it will reveal later in the year.
