Richard Zizian, Chairman and CEO of Critical Period Insurance Agency, Inc. of San Diego California (“CPIA”) is please to announce that Michael J. Stevenson, an experienced and well-respected veteran of the warranty and specialty lines insurance industry, has joined the firm as President and Chief Operating Officer. “Having Michael, with his hands-on experience, on our executive team, is a strategic and important initiative at a time when CPIA is undertaking the implementation of 6 major national programs in both the public and private sectors,” said Zizian. Stevenson is a pioneer in the warranty industry and is one of the Co-Founders of the Service Contract Industry Council, and a participant in the development of California and other state warranty industry regulations. He was formerly Senior Vice President of American Bankers Insurance Group, President and CEO of Federal Warranty Service Corporation, President of ServicePlan, Inc. (AON Corp), and Vice President of Ryan Insurance Group.
Michael has held Board positions at American Reliable Insurance Co, Protection Life Insurance Co., Glendale Insurance LTD and Warranty Casualty LTD. He is a graduate of Missouri State University and heavily involved in community nonprofit organizations including the Executive Board of Boy Scouts of America, Los Angeles Chapter and Chairman of LIFE, founded Dennis Weaver, (Love Is Feeding Everyone) that assists the homeless in California.
As President & COO of CPIA Stevenson will be instrumental in overseeing CPIA’s national insurance and warranty programs which include CPIA’s patent pending Sewer Lateral Service Plan Program for municipal sanitation districts, Community Homeowner’s Insurance, Involuntary Unemployment Tuition Insurance for Private Schools and Day Cares, Marital Dissolution Insurance, and a number of insured warranty initiatives.
