BriefingWire.com, 1/27/2014 - 24th January 2014: FremantleMedia & 19 Entertainment entered into an exclusive partnership with KarmYog Media and Arts Education Network to roll out a one-of-its kind talent development program – Indian Idol Academy. The curtain raiser for the Indian Idol Academy, Festival of Music and Learning in Kolkata was announced by Shri sourabh J. sarkar (Founder of Indian Idol Academy and Creator of OmniDEL™), Mr. Chuck Schreiner (Managing Director of KarmYog Education Network) and Mr. Satish Datt (FremantleMedia and Creative Director of the Indian Idol Show). The academy aspires to groom young singers to cultivate their love of performing, also instilling in them the skills, confidence and self-belief to continue on their path to stardom.

Indian Idol Academy is the product of a bold idea that originated from FremantleMedia and KarmYog Education Network. FremantleMedia owns the global rights to the Idol brand, and enjoys a leadership position among music reality shows in India and Asia Pacific. India – a country that loves to sing – has responded strongly to the idea of the Indian Idol Academy. Within a few hours of the announcement of the Academy during the grand finale of the Indian Idol Junior last September, over 14000 young aspirants has registered for admissions. This would be Fremantle’s first venture into the field of education and training in the field of performing arts.

Indian Idol Academy is a Learning Program that helps young children excel in the field of light Hindi vocal singing. The learning festival electrifies all the important aspects of music and singing with the Indian Idol Academy Panel of legends - Salim Merchant, Alka Yagnik, Hariharan, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Bickram Ghosh and the experts from the Indian Idol show.

Courses designed under this program are

(i) A 3 month Music Discovery Course

(ii) A 6 month long Talent Development Course and finally

(iii) Learning from the legends Program

Shri sourabh J Sarkar, stated on the occasion, ‘The vision of the academy is roll out in 40 cities all around India and other parts of the world, over the next 3 years, and touch hundreds of thousands of learners at the top end of the funnel, through the Learning Festival and Music Discovery Course. At the bottom end of the funnel it will enroll about a few thousand learners from all around the country who will receive advanced training from the legends. Built up on the three foundations of Gyaan, Kaushal and Saadhna, our program intends to create music appreciation and performance in a deeper level. All three join hands for a holistic personality development of a child, ultimately creating a true performer.’
