Dr. Mohannad Barakat has membership of the Royal College of Surgeons and has also Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Trauma and Orthopaedics). His teaching experience include teaching and examination of students, junior and senior doctors at various stages of their education, allied professionals, and theatre staff at local, national and international level. He is the reviewer for the British Medical Journal, Journal of Joint and Bone Surgery and the European Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology. He has received several distinctions and awards in the areas of anatomy physiology, biochemistry pathology, orthopaedics and anaesthesia.Dr. Mohannad Jamil Barakat is competent in all aspects of trauma surgery including simples ones to the most complex of trauma cases. His elective surgery experience include carpal tunnel release, trigger finger release, wrist arthroscopy, cubital tunnel decompression, spine microdiscectomy, Spine canal decompression and others. He has significant experience in performing spinal surgeries. He has given important presentations at local, national and international level. In May 2012, he presented multilevel lumbar spinal stenosis decompression – mid term outcome using a modified Hinge osteotomy technique at Effort, Berlin.
He often finds out time from his professional commitments to follow his interests and passions. He likes to play tennis, football, volleyball, and basketball. He also enjoys travelling and going out with friends.
