Noted retinal and eye surgeon of Kolkata, Dr Somdutt Prasad is one of the distinguished attendees at the 47th Annual Conference of the Ophthalmological Society of West Bengal. The conference will be held from November 19-20 2016 at Swabhumi The Heritage Plaza, Kolkata.On the first day of the conference, Dr Prasad is one of the co-instructors of an instructional course “Managing Diabetic Eye Disease in Clinical Practice.” He will also judge one of the free paper sessions in the morning. In the Retina Grande Session, he will speak for the motion on the topic “Early vitrectomy for diabetic retinopathy.” He will also speak on “Lens surgery in Marfan's syndrome,” a topic which won him a prize at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ASCRS).
On 20th November 2016 during the second day of the conference Dr Prasad will participate in a debate with Dr Sandip Mitra on “Training in the guise of charitable surgery treats patients like guinea pigs.” The conference will also see top-notch ophthalmologists from India giving presentations and speaking on various topics.
