Dr Tariq Drabu Advises Brits Embarrassed to Open Smile in 2016
Dr Tariq Drabu said “A new study has revealed that Brits tend to hide their teeth in selfies.”

BriefingWire.com, 6/03/2016 - Dr Tariq Drabu is a Manchester born and educated dentist and specialist oral surgeon. He is one of the youngest dentists to ever graduate in the United Kingdom and has worked in some of the busiest dental hospitals in the UK and Saudi Arabia. He received his Fellowship in Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons and is now the proud owner of the successful Langley Dental Practice in Middleton. He is also the Clinical Lead Dentist for the Oral Surgery Clinical Assessment and Treatment Services at NHS Heywood Middleton and Rochdale. Dr Drabu also finds time in his busy schedule to tutor and mentor postgraduate dentists in oral surgery at the UCLAN Dental Clinic in Preston.

Dr Tariq Drabu was speaking about a recent article published on a top dental website. The full article, which was published on 18 May 2016, can be read here.

Dr Tariq Drabu in Manchester said “A recent study has revealed that Brits hide their teeth in selfies. What the survey showed is that only twenty nine percent of those taking a selfie will do so with an open smile, while seventy five percent will not show their teeth at all.”

Dr Tariq Drabu went on to say “What is interesting is that thirty three percent advised that they hide their teeth because they are discoloured with discolouration and crooked teeth being the leading cause for a closed smile. Both of these can be treated and taken care of. At Langley Dental Practice we provide two different tooth whitening options, stain removal solutions and cosmetic dental services to correct a crooked tooth or two.”

Dr Tariq Drabu closed in saying “Eighty percent of women will grin, while only sixty eight percent of men will grin. At the same time, fifty five percent of those taking part in the survey admitted to only brushing their teeth once a day. Brushing twice daily, flossing on a daily basis and regular dental appointments are all imperative to improve oral health, while we have whitening, veneers and other options to hide imperfections, boost confidence and self-esteem.”
