Dr Tariq Drabu Concerned Britons Relaxing on Healthy Eating in 2016
Dr Tariq Drabu said “Mintel has conducted a survey which shows certain foods falling in terms of consumption throughout the United Kingdom in past couple of years.”

BriefingWire.com, 5/07/2016 - Dr Tariq Drabu is a leading dentist and specialist oral surgeon based in Manchester in the United Kingdom. He is also one of the youngest dentists to ever graduate in the United Kingdom before working in some of the busiest dental hospitals in the UK and Saudi Arabia. He always showed a passion in oral surgery which resulted in him completing his Fellowship in Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Today Dr Drabu is the owner of the successful Langley Dental Practice and is also the Clinical Lead Dentist for the Oral Surgery Clinical Assessment and Treatment Services at NHS Heywood Middleton and Rochdale. He is also an active mentor and tutor to postgraduate dentists in oral surgery at the UCLAN Dental Clinic in Preston.

Dr Tariq Drabu was speaking about an article recently published on a top dental website.

Dr Tariq Drabu in Manchester said “Mintel have conducted a survey showing that chocolate sales have fallen as a snack of choice by more than nine percent between 2014 and 2015. Of those that took part in this recent survey, sixty eight percent, or two thirds of the participants, admitted to eating chocolate in December 2014 and yet only fifty nine percent advised that they consumed chocolate in December 2015.”

Dr Tariq Drabu went on to say “Crisp sales have also fallen during this time from sixty seven percent to fifty seven percent with sweets being enjoyed as a snack dropped from forty percent to twenty nine percent. While this is all good news. There are some concerns which are worth noting. When it comes to snacking, Britons have also dropped in the amount of fresh fruit they are eating by seven percent. Fresh fruit consumption has dropped from sixty eight to sixty one percent and vegetable consumption has dropped from thirty two to twenty one percent.”

Dr Tariq Drabu closed in saying “In order to maintain healthy teeth and gums it is imperative that the public enjoys a healthy and well-balanced diet and this includes fruits and vegetables. Crunchy fruits and vegetables can be very advantageous to oral health helping with saliva production.”
