Globus' Showa TEMRES 281 glove is chosen as best innovation finalist by tiling association
The Showa TEMRES 281 glove is recognized by the tiling association for protecting hands from water ingress

BriefingWire.com, 3/20/2015 - The new Showa TEMRES 281 glove, by Globus, a world leader in protecting hands, has been chosen by The Tile Association (TTA) as a finalist for the ‘Best Innovation’ category within their prestigious, annual awards. TEMRES 281 is the world’s first waterproof and breathable polyurethane protective glove. It is ideal for the tiling sector as hands are protected against water ingress by an impervious barrier, while moisture and water is allowed to disperse to the outside simultaneously. As a result, the hand is allowed to breathe, any accumulation of perspiration and bacteria inside the glove is negated and a more comfortable wearing experience results for the user.

The TTA Awards is an annual event to promote excellence in the wall and floor tiling industry and being a finalist is a symbol of excellence. Commenting on the glove, Dave Stott of Elite Tiling and TTA Tiler of The Year 2013 said, “The Showa TEMRES 281 glove is remarkable and invaluable for people within the tiling industry, especially when grouting.”

Keeping hands comfortable while wearing gloves is a problem experienced by workers across many industries, after all it’s only natural that hands will sweat when they are covered for long periods. This often means gloves are discarded leaving the worker unprotected. By retaining comfort the glove is likely to be left on to protect the worker.

The technology within the glove which allows comfort and protection over long periods is an advanced composite nylon and polyurethane liner, with an inner foam membrane and micro-ventilated polyurethane coating. This provides a comfortable and breathable layer of protection while, at the same time, providing a barrier to prevent liquids entering the glove. Those who wear the Showa TEMRES 281 glove can work effectively as handling precision and good grip performance can be achieved.

The glove is durable and can be washed offering users both value-for-money and longevity. The Showa TEMRES 281 glove can also be used for protection and good grip in other wet handling tasks. Globus recommends the glove for work in the agriculture, automotive, logistics, and maritime, as well as the home and garden sectors.

Steve Shale, Marketing Manager of Globus commented, “We know that the Showa TEMRES 281 glove is a fantastic work aid for those working across many industries. However, it’s great to achieve recognition for innovation from a recognised trade association to strengthen the glove’s credibility”.

Showa TEMRES 281 is available to order in sizes small, medium, large and extra-large. For more information on this or other gloves across the Globus range, visit www.globus.co.uk, call +44(0) 161 877 4747 or e-mail: gloves@globus.co.uk.
