Help Us Promote Oakland Digital's 2nd Annual Social Media for Small Businesses
Technology is thriving throughout the rest of the world while Oakland businesses appear to remain dormant. Oakland Digital and Google+ Steve Grove, launched the award-winning CNN/YouTube Debates have partnered to help businesses in Oakland

BriefingWire.com, 7/19/2012 - July 19, 2012, Oakland, CA – Oakland Digital is back with their 2nd Annual Social Media for Small Businesses one-day event on July 25th, 2012 at Oakland City Hall. This five-hour power-packed educational event is not to be missed. The event will open with Oakland Mayor Jean Quan with special guest MC Hammer along with Constant Contact, Wix.com, eBay and Yelp. Google+ Steve Grove - launched the award-winning, web-to-TV political debate, CNN/YouTube Debates platform - is the keynote speaker. He hosted the first social media interview with President Barack Obama.

These technology experts will be lending their social marketing expertise and will be sharing tips and tricks of the trade. "Constant Contact is delighted to be a part of this great event and to continue growing our partnership as we make a positive impact on small businesses throughout the East Bay" says Karen Rice, Constant Contact Northen California Regional Development Director.

Last year’s event was held at the same location with over 220 small business owners, non-profit organizations, entrepreneurs, realtors, consultants, associations, churches and chambers of commerce members in attendance all eager to garner low cost solutions for building capacity using technology. As with last year, this event will provide an easy-to-learn platform in how to effectively use social media tools and help business owners learn how to reach untapped, potential customers while staying connected with current customers. Additionally, there will be a Q&A forum, expert panel and networking session.

It is expected that this year’s event will exceed last year’s attendance so early registration is encouraged. This event is open to the public with a suggested donation of $25 per person; registration is required. Donations will benefit Oakland Digital, an Oakland 501(c)(3), volunteer-driven nonprofit organization, to continue their efforts in servicing the underserved community and youth.

The suggested donation does not constitute a fee or admission charge to Oakland City Hall. To register or for more information visit www.OaklandSocialMedia.com. If you are unable to attend but would still like to be a part the Oakland Digitial effort, please donate at donate@odalc.org.
