Highlights of SATCOM Africa 2012
NewSat is eyeing a bigger share of the regional SATCOM market through its Jabiru fleet.

BriefingWire.com, 5/16/2012 - NewSat and leading satellite and teleport operators in both regional and local markets will convene in Johannesburg for SATCOM Africa 2012. The country once again will be a host to three days of trade show, conference, workshop and networking.

Australian operator NewSat is set to provide more capacity to high-growth markets like Middle East and Africa as it works on its upcoming Ka-band satellite, Jabiru-1.

SATCOM Africa 2012 is a collaboration among Telecoms World Africa, The TV Show Africa and Submarine Networks World Africa. The event will be attended by premier African and international satellite communications companies that develop, operate and invest in the local and regional markets. NewSat is eyeing a bigger share of the regional SATCOM market through its Jabiru fleet.

The event is a great opportunity for service providers and buyers to grow new business partnerships while learning modern strategies to enhance their respective technological capabilities. Keynote speakers will provide insightful and timely discussions on market trends and business practices.Thierry Tormiet, Middle East and Africa Regional Director of Telecom Italia Sparkle, and Bradley Shaw, 3i Publishing, will deliver a speech on broadband access optimization and maximization of return on investment. Cable & Wireless VP for Carrier Sales Diarmid Massey will talk about fiber usage to support SATCOM solutions . Yvon Henri of Radio Communications Bureau will discuss speed issues and high-bandwidth network usage.

Mr. Tormiet and Mr. Massey will likewise join the discussion on "Fibre and Satellite – The Cohesive Solution." NewSat Rep. Steve Rich will be joining the event to highlight the ground services and satellite communications capabilities of the Australian company. NewSat elected Lockheed Martin to construct its first ever Ka band satellite which is expected to launch in 2014, serving the Middle East, Asia Pacific and African regions.
