LONDON, May 3, 2013 – CUPSOGUE PICTURES are pleased to announce that Jack O’Halloran, known for his roles in Richard Donner’s ‘Superman the Movie’ and its sequel, ‘Dragnet’ with Tom Hanks & Dan Aykroyd, and ‘King Kong’ with Jeff Bridges, has been confirmed as ‘Guardian Simon’ in its upcoming fantasy motion picture ‘Welcome to Purgatory’.O’Halloran, who has shared screen time with Marlon Brando, Christopher Reeve, Gene Hackman (‘Superman the Movie’ and ‘Superman II’), Tom Hanks, Dan Akyroyd (Dragnet), and Sylvester Stallone (Farewell My Lovely), will play the supporting role of Guardian Simon in ‘Welcome to Purgatory’, which will be directed by British director Gene Fallaize.
“We’re delighted to be working with Jack again on ‘Welcome to Purgatory’” said Fallaize “he has worked with some of the greatest names in the history of the film industry, and he is the perfect actor to portray the role of Guardian Simon”.
‘Welcome to Purgatory’ follows three new arrivals – Willis, Taylor and Danni - as they navigate this fresh vision of the Afterlife, helped along the way by trusty Guardian Paul and long-term survivor Nina. They find the afterlife in ruins amidst a growing war between Good and Evil and they must find a way to make things right, before Heaven is ruined for the rest of time.
Tony Cook and Gene Fallaize will be producing the picture for Cupsogue Pictures, which was written by Marcus Ako & Tony Cook. Further casting announcements to follow.
Filming is due to commence on ‘Welcome to Purgatory’ at the end of 2013 at Pinewood Studios, England, ahead of a theatrical release in 2014.
