Jessica Ann Wachel is a nursing student at Texas State University. She has a 3.55 GPA and enjoys attending athletic events outside of the classroom. Her favorite sport is football and she tries to make every game at Bobcat Stadium. “I hardly ever miss a home game. They are just so much fun,” Jessica Ann Wachel said.

Jessica Ann Wachel watched her Bobcats defeat the Georgia State Panthers by a score of 24-17, en route to their fourth win of the season. The game was close from beginning to end, and the crowd was excited the whole game. Jessica Ann Wachel noted that Bobcat running back Robert Lowe rushed for a career high of 177 yards.

“It was a really great game. It’s exciting anytime a game comes down to the fourth quarter and it was just a perfect day for football,” said Jessica Ann Wachel.

While the game is always fun, football in Texas is more than just four quarters. Fans in San Marcos enjoy a day full of tailgating and fun leading up to, and past, the game itself. Parents, students, alumni, and fans gather around the stadium to hang out with friends, eat good food, and watch other football games around the country. The events outside of the stadium can sometimes surpass those inside.

“The tailgating is great. In fact, I think that’s my favorite part. We always have great food at our tailgates, and my friends stop by throughout the day,” Jessica Ann Wachel said. “Sometimes my parents will come down for the weekend and I always love introducing them to all my friends from school,” Jessica Ann Wachel continued.

Texas State has two more remaining home games against South Alabama and Western Kentucky. Jessica Ann Wachel is sure to be there rooting her Bobcats on the entire way.

“I think we are going to finish off a great season. I’ll be doing my part!” said Jessica Ann Wachel.
