After 29 years of proud, distinguish and honorable service by way of the United States Army, this nominee retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. She is an Author, Motivational Speaker, Children’s Advocate and Community Activist. I speak of none other than, Amicitia Maloon-Gibson, Lt. Col. Retired. Lt. Col. Maloon-Gibson currently serves as President of the Women's Army Corps, Space Coast Chapter #64; she is Vice President of the Gen. Daniel "Chappie" James, JR. Chapter Tuskegee Airmen, Inc, Florida. The retired Lt. Col. is also affiliated with the Disabled Veterans (DAV) and Outreach at the Women's Veterans Center in Daytona Beach, FL. She is a devoted member of Mt. Moriah African Methodist Episcopal Church of Cocoa, Fl., the Commission on the Status of Women for Brevard County, the Space Coast Chapter of the National Congress of Black Women, Inc. and last, but in no way least, a Life Member of the Central Brevard County Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, just to name a few. As an involved member of the NAACP Ms. Gibson is in her own right a Freedom Fighter in both her deeds and actions; she has served the organization through the years in numerous capacities and is no way tired yet. Additionally, Lt. Col. Retiree, Maloon-Gibson provides exemplary service to the local community in the various organizations in both her philanthropic giving and volunteer services.
Lt. Col. Amicitia Maloon-Gibson is a well rounded professional; she has travelled extensively both home and abroad. It is because of all of the aforementioned plus some that I without any hesitation whatsoever nominate this sister, Ms. Amicitia Maloon-Gibson, Lt. Col.
