The name Machine Gun Preacher was given to Sam by the South Sudan Villagers he protected against the Lord’s Resistance Army, a brutal regime of guerillas who showed no mercy to their child victims and their parents, and who are resistant to any form of religious calling for good.

“Imagine a room filled with bikers, law enforcement protectors, business leaders, combat veterans, EMT medics, firefighters, militia men, pastors and laymen, alpha males and former prisoners,” says Sam “We want to reach men in Houston who need to be challenged and encouraged in their walk as defenders, leaders and first responders.”

Sam is the first American to receive The Mother Teresa Memorial International Award for Social Justice, joining the ranks of Malala Yousafzai and the Dalai Lama in receiving a major award from an Indian charity that eulogizes Mother Teresa.
