Seattle,WA - Rain City Cinema announced today that it will be releasing in June its acclaimed film "Waiting For Merritt".Rain City Cinema's Producer-writer, Paul Gorman who worked on a David Mamet movie was captivated by the script and by Mamet, who hung out at a pool hall shooting 8-ball in between takes. It was there that Gorman was inspired to write "Waiting For Merritt".
"Waiting For Merritt" is a film about screenwriter Tom Olsen who will do anything to sell his script. His overzealousness soon lands him in a confrontation with his idol, director and con man, David Merritt. Merritt spots Tom's vulnerability and exploits him...but, Tom has studied his idol and is sure that he can outfox the fox.
What ensues is a cat and mouse potboiler full of twists and turns of fate.
"It's a little bit of 'Stunt Man' and 'House of Games' all mixed together along with some of my own experiences as a screenwriter and Independent Filmmaker," said Rain City Cinema's Paul Gorman. "The result is a film that not only will appeal to an older generation weaned on neo-noir films, but today's Indie Filmmaking crowd as well. "Waiting For Merritt" is definitely something everyone can enjoy and identify with."
Paul Gorman is the creator and founder of Rain City Cinema and B-Roll Cloud. He lives in Redmond, WA with his wife and his dog.
