Orefield, PA – August 28, 2012 6:30 PM – Maulfair Medical Center is sending an opening invitation to attend a free seminar on Digestion and Health on Tuesday, August 28th at 6:30 PM. The seminar will be conducted in the conference room by Dr. Conrad Maulfair, an osteopathic physician and director of Maulfair Medical Center in Orefield, PA.
Dr. Maulfair will present on the digestive system, potential problems within the digestive system, and ways to improve the digestive function through an alternative approach without pharmaceutical and clinical intervention. Dr. Maulfair believes that the increased use of antibiotics in humans may lead to a potential deterioration in the digestive system that could result into chronic complications. During the free seminar, Dr. Maulfair will also explain how cholesterol aids in digestion, contrary to the common belief that it is villain of the heart. According to the Doctor, cholesterol is not fat but a waxy substance produced by the liver and ingested through foods we eat.
According to Dr. Maulfair, "Perhaps one of the most important roles of cholesterol is in the formation and maintenance of cellular function through the integrity of cell membranes, as well as many of the membranes of the other structures within the cell - including the organelles that produce energy." He indicates that membrane integrity is essential for life, health, and the prevention of disease. "Here is a substance that is, in fact, a health-enhancing life necessity but that is purported to be life threatening," says Dr. Maulfair. "Cholesterol has gotten a bad rap. We are told that we eat too much cholesterol in our diet and that elevated levels in the blood cause hardening of the arteries that, in turn, cause heart attacks and strokes.
Dr. Maulfair and staff are specialized in conventional medical practice and alternative treatment of chronic health issues. They offer seminars to educate people on how body functions and how to prevent diseases.
The Maulfair Medical Center, a family healthcare facility, supports these seminars to promote health awareness to the public.
