Mixed Martial Arts Youth Foundation (MMAYF) announced today that it will be holding their first private seminar/workshop for a small group of students enrolled at the KIPP TRUTH Academy of Dallas who have a specific interest in learning more about the sport of MMA. This event will be held on February 19th, 2011 at the KIPP TRUTH Academy Dallas campus.
“I’m excited to get this on the calendar and to begin a relationship with MMAYF” said teacher at KIPP TRUTH Academy, Scott Strough. He went on to say, “I think it's great that the MMAYF is interested in exposing kids to the sport of MMA. I've been a fan of the sport for many years and feel that it has a lot to offer young people, especially those kids who need some direction and positivity in their lives.”
“When the MMAYF took a tour of the KIPP TRUTH Academy Dallas campus I was utterly impressed by the maturity of the students that were enrolled” said Sayif Saud, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors for MMAYF. “If the KIPP TRUTH Academy is doing this well in preparing these kids academically for the world ahead, the MMAYF, hopefully will be able to compliment what KIPP is doing by being able to provide skills learned through athletics and martial arts that will be integral to these kids growth and success in the future.”
