Owner of a Passive Solar House Releases Book on Experience
Tracey Allen has just launched a book titled Building a Passive Solar House – My Experience Shared a home owner's view of deciding and building an earth-bermed, ICF (Insulated Concrete Form), passive solar house.

BriefingWire.com, 11/06/2012 - (York, PEI) November 6th , 2012 – Tracey Allen has just launched her third book in paperback and Kindle format. The book titled Building a Passive Solar House – My Experience Shared is a home owner's view of deciding and building an earth-bermed, ICF (Insulated Concrete Form), passive solar house.

Allen says, “We wanted to share our experience to encourage others to pursue a more sustainable life.” With the price of heating a house on the rise with no end in sight.

“The idea of never having to pay another oil bill is very appealing and more sustainable from both an environmental and economic perspective,” says Allen, who now lives in her new passive solar house.

This book outlines the experience of building a passive solar house from start to finish by the building owners. Included in the book are ideas to help renovate existing homes to capture passive solar gain. Where possible installation instructions and/or costs are provided. There are a number of pictures showing construction including architect's design development drawings.
