3rd March, 2015, UK: Polyvinyl chloride, commonly abbreviated as PVC, is the third-most widely produced synthetic plastic polymer, with polyethylene and polypropylene being the leaders in the list.This PVC comes in two basic forms like:
• Rigid – The rigid form of PVC is used in construction for pipe and in profile applications such as doors and windows. It is also used for bottles, other non-food packaging, and cards.
• Flexible – by addition of plasticizers, the rigid PVC is made softer and more flexible. It is most widely used in making phthalates. In this form, it is also used in plumbing, electrical cable insulation, imitation leather, signage, inflatable products, and many applications where it can replace rubber.
The PVC vinyl display banner is also another widely used purpose for using Poly (vinyl chloride). It is formed in flat sheets of varying thicknesses and colours. As the flat sheets, PVC is often expanded to create voids in the interior of the material, providing additional thickness without additional weight and at minimal extra cost. These sheets are cut using saw and the rotary cutting equipment.
Plasticized PVC is also used to produce thin, coloured, or clear, adhesive-backed films referred to simply as vinyl. These films are typically cut using a computer-controlled plotter or are printed in a wide-format printer. These sheets and films are used to produce a wide variety of commercial signage products and markings on vehicles.
Many events also have their back drop decorated with these PVC banners in order to display the name and purpose of the event for the guests to understand better.
