QuadAxis Chooses BarracudaDrive As Its Primary Embedded Web Server Partner
CARLSBAD, CA – November 18, 2009 – QuadAxis, developer of QuadPlug and QuadPC plug computers, announced today that is has selected Real Time Logic, a global provider of secure device management toolkits for embedded devices, as a premier partner bringing a very high quality web server powered by BarracudaDrive to the QuadAxis computing platform.
QuadAxis recently launched its plug computing device product line and development platform, featuring the QuadPlug and the QuadPC which run QuadMix, a pre-integrated and pre-configured Debian-based operating system. Both QuadPlug and QuadPC are smaller embedded computers which supply users with a simplified, low cost, low power yet robust device to manage and access their digital assets.
As an internet-based electronic document management system, BarracudaDrive Web Server makes it easy to store, access and share files online. BarracudaDrive is different from the standard “online file service” provided by a myriad of providers because it turns your own home network into a powerful yet very secure online file storage area. Users with BarracudaDrive have the ultimate control over their data, giving friends or family limited or unlimited access to their computer from anywhere – from work, from school, while traveling, at a friend’s place – and making the act of sharing documents, photos, music, and other data almost effortless. BarracudaDrive is similar to Apple’s iDisk service but without the monthly fee. There are many other value-added features for consumers included with BarracudaDrive such as a powerful blog which could be used to connect with Facebook friends and a web page creation tool.
“We are excited to announce our partnership with Real Time Logic, a definitive international leader in the embeddable application server for embedded devices arena. Integrating BarracudaDrive into our QuadPlug allows for a robust expansion of the native capability of our plug computer, and greatly compliments our focus on ‘ease of use’ while continuing our commitment to green computing platforms,” commented Nir Daliot, Co-Founder and CEO of QuadAxis.
“We are thrilled about having the BarracudaDrive software incorporated on the QuadPlug since it provides the consumer with all of the benefits and features found only in much more expensive, power hungry enterprise solutions,” added Wilfred Nilsen, President and CEO of Real Time Logic.
QuadAxis is a technology start-up founded in 2009 to take advantage of the numerous benefits plug computers running open-source OS can provide to individual consumers and businesses alike in the global marketplace. For information see http://www.quadaxis.com.
