Leading providers of mobile backhaul, wireless broadband, and ICT solutions will gather at this year's CommunicAsia 2012 (The 23rd International Communications and Information Technology Exhibition and Conference ) on June 19-22 at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. Among the featured speakers are senior executives from Singapore Telecommunications Limited, Gilat, International Telecommunication Union, Altobridge, Viasat, SpeedCast Ltd, NewSat, Thuraya Telecommunications Company, Hughes Network Systems, Thaicom Public Company Limited and other regional and global carriers. Aliza Knox, Google Asia Pacific Managing Director for Commerce, and US Ambassador David A. Gross will give their own assessment of the challenges and opportunities facing the region's ICT market.
The current state and prospects COTM will be discussed in "Comms on the move," to be hosted by Kevin French, publisher of Talksatellite. SingTel Satellite VP Titus Yong will be the keynote speaker in "Maximizing Business Efficiencies for the Maritime Industry with Satellite Communications and ICT Solutions." Yong will examine key drivers of technology adoption: crew welfare, operational efficiency and control, focusing on driving operational efficiency via satellite-based crew welfare technology like broadband and ICT applications. Yong will show how satellite broadband can be used as a tool to maximize efficiencies onboard while promoting the welfare of senior officers and thousands of maritime staff by 2020, particularly the use of these solutions to improve diagnosis over video, traffic acceleration, bandwidth optimization and real-time communications cost management.
"Carrier Identification – Addressing What Has Been Missing in Satellite Communications" will highlight the latest commercial initiatives to solve interference affecting mobile backhaul carriers, satellite communications operators, and broadcasters, courtesy of Fred Morris, Vice President, Sales Engineering, Comtech EF Data.
Adrian Ballintine, the chief executive officer of Australian SATCOM firm NewSat, will discuss "Ka-band and Australasian Satellite Growth," assessing the impact of the upcoming Jabiru fleet in augmenting Australiasia's Ka band capacity and mobile backhaul coverage.
