The students of Ms. Walder's class at Copper View Elementary have discovered a new love of reading and it is inspired by one book. The class has been reading a copy of Kathryn Kaye's The Haunted Lighthouse together in class. The story is about a group of grade school students who start a paranormal investigation group and set out to discover if a local lighthouse is truly haunted and end up on a crazy adventure. The students at Copper View have enjoyed the book so much that they actually drew pictures and wrote letters to the author asking her to contact them. A representative for Kathryn Kaye states that the author has sent an email to the teacher indicating that she would love to speak with the students and that she hopes to inspire a continued love of reading and writing among young people. The author also welcomes invites from other schools and classes to do the same. This is not the first time that this particular book has generated public support. Last year a volunteer read copies of the title to children and patients at a local hospital. Afterward several patients indicated that the story helped to take their minds off of the illness or injuries. It seems that a good story can do more than entertain. It can comfort and inspire as well. Persons interested in picking up their own copy of The Haunted Lighthouse can find it in print on Amazon, Barnes and Nobles and other great stores. Or they can pick up the Kindle version for only 99 cents everyday.
