The Wild West Football League, a semi-pro, full contact football league kicks off its season at 7 pm on March 20th with last year's champions, the Las Vegas Demolition vs the Summerlin Buccaneers. The games will be played at Freedom Park on Pecos and Washington. The Buccaneers are the only team in WWFL history to win back to back championships. Head Coach for the Buccaneers, Malcholm Ballard (who was last season's Defensive Coordinator for the Demolition) believes that his team will take out the reigning champions. "We are the only team in the WWFL that has won back to back championships and we will show the Demolition who's boss". Ted Kennedy, the 45 year old Quarterback for the Demolition is very confident that his team will beat the Buccaneers, badly. "The Buccs are a good team, with some excellent atheletes and a lot of speed, but we're gonna beat them like red-headed step children!" Kennedy is so certain of this that he has thrown down what he calls the "Mohawk Challenge". "I told Coach Malcholm that whoever loses this game, the other guy gets to give him a mohawk on the 50 yard line immediately following the contest". Ballard has accepted this offer stating with a laugh, "...I am going to give Kennedy the shortest mohawk in history, but it may be a little crooked." Kennedy and the Demolition went 21 for 30 for 288 yards, 3 TDs and 0 interceptions in last season's championship game against the Las Vegas Elite.
