MIAMI, Florida (January, 2011) - Siemens Energy, Inc., with the help of Digital Signage Services, LLC., once again upgraded their Corporate Communication channel, eTV, with the addition of over 30 high-definition LCD screens strategically located throughout their its campus in Orlando, FL. The content was also greatly upgraded by the addition of RSS feeds from their headquarters in Munich, Germany, that are fed automatically into the system and displayed on the screens together with news feeds including local weather and business news.The project is spearheaded by the Corporate Communications Department in alliance with the Information Technology division of the global energy leader, Siemens Energy, Inc. The information is managed from a central location and distributed via its intranet to office buildings and warehouses throughout the country where flat panel digital LCD screens are installed to display the content.
The new screens were installed in the main walkways and hallways so employees could experience the system more often. Larger screens were added so multiple screen zones could be used, as this capability makes the content more dynamic.
Remote facilities can also add their local content by using templates developed specifically for that purpose by Corporate Communications in Orlando. This system allows the corporate office to maintain a consistent look no matter where the information is coming from as well as to have a mix of local and “corporate” news at all times.
Local news added by each facility includes employee birthdays, special events, local activities and meeting announcements. The corporate news includes company information, new projects, new clients, directives, employee benefits, etc.
This project further supports Siemens Energy, Inc.’s commitment to GREEN technologies in order to save money from printing, distribution, posting and later disposing of printed materials.
