Third Lawsuit Filed Alleging Assault By Doctor Who Practiced in Clearwater and Delray Beach

Fort Lauderdale, FL - Farmer, Jaffe, Weissing, Edwards, Fistos & Lehrman attorney Adam Horowitz announces the filing today in Pinellas County Circuit Court (CASE #14-005930-CI) of a third lawsuit for assault against DR. MANUEL ABREU. This lawsuit, which also names as a defendant his former medical practice, ALL CARE MEDICAL CONSULTANTS, alleges that DR. ABREU assaulted a female patient on multiple occasions between 2010 and 2012.

According to the Complaint:

* DR. MANUEL ABREU has been named as defendant in three lawsuits involving battery against a two female patients and a medical assistant.

* Between 2009 and 2012, DR. MANUEL ABREU worked an internist in Pinellas County for ALL CARE MEDICAL CONSULANTS with offices in St. Petersburg and Clearwater, until he was terminated in February 2012.

* Between approximately 2010 and 2012, DR. ABREU committed multiple acts of assault in his office toward his patient, including making unwanted physical contact with her breast and vaginal area, and exposing his genitals. During these visit, DR. ABREU never allowed a medical assistant or nurse into the room and locked the door to the examination room.

* ALL CARE MEDICAL CONSULTANTS was aware of DR. ABREU’s misconduct but never reported him to the Florida Department of Health.

Adam Horowitz, attorney for victim the victim stated, “According to the lawsuit, Dr. Abreu has assaulted numerous women he encountered at his office, including patients, medical assistants, and pharmaceutical sales representative. My client is committed to exposing Dr. Abreu for this horrific assault and obtaining civil and criminal justice.”
