The University of New Orleans just announced they will be laying off 130 workers due to the biggest budget cuts the school has faced in its entire 54-year history. The budget will be cut by $12 million to close a budget gap that was prompted largely by a $9.3 million cut in funds provided by the state.Healthcare and retirement costs have also increased, which is thought to be to blame for the budget shortfall as well.
