"U.S. Indie Author Nominated for the 2012 Australian Romance Reader’s Award!"
U.S. Author Literary Award Nomination

BriefingWire.com, 1/17/2013 - At this time of the year the world is abuzz with award shows and events for films, actors, musicians, and so much more. In the midst of acknowledgments in regards to the entertainment industry is also what is going on in the publishing business. Traditionally, big name authors have ruled the stage in every possible venue available for literary awards, but in the last year or so there has been a major influx of a new brand of author. The Independent (aka ‘Indie’) Author.

Indie Authors, named much the same as any entertainment artist who has to produce, control, and market their own work, are making serious strides in gaining a lot of recognition. Around the world and back, more and more of these authors are finding their names listed as award nominees alongside some of the best of the best in every possible category. One that I know of is nominated for the prestigious Australian Romance Reader’s Award for ‘Best Paranormal Romance.’ She is Best-selling US Independent Author, Charity Parkerson.

Charity Parkerson, a Tennessee native, is a wife, mother of two boys, and an ongoing force in independent writing. She is also a former Pre-School Teacher who at this point in her life has added writing as her next fulfilling career. With mounting connections, friends, colleagues, and fans worldwide, (over 97,000 plus followers on Twitter and Facebook), Charity maintains a down-to-earth persona and was absolutely thrown by the news of her nomination.

“I can still remember reading J.R. Ward’s stories and dreaming up my own never even imagining that one day my name would be read alongside hers,” she said. “This has been the most amazing journey from idea to possible award. There is no way I am going to win.” Though that is her humble opinion, the results remain to be seen.

Altogether, Charity has published 21 novels and short stories, is a 12-time Best-seller, and has won numerous online contests and other awards. Her nominated novel for the ARR Awards, ‘The Danger with Sinners,’ is the third book in her Sinner Series, one of many and more yet to come, is available on Amazon, Barnes & Nobles, and several other online retailers wherever electronic and print books are sold.

Voting for the Australian Romance Readers Awards ends on February 13, 2013 and the winners will be announced at the Awards Dinner to be held on March 2, 2013 at the ARR Convention in Brisbane Australia. It is not definite that Charity will be able to attend the event, but win or not, her nomination is a big nod to her writing career and a big win for aspiring indie authors everywhere.

Charity Parkerson currently lives with her family in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and is always thankful and thrilled to connect with new friends and fans. Her mother, Regina Puckett, is also an outstanding indie author to follow.
