Two years ago, she launched the music genre called Black YELLLOW Pop (correctly spelled with three L’s). Black YELLLOW pop expresses the cycle of life and Ysan’sseven personalities, which Ysan has been experiencing throughout her journey of life, all of which led to the creation of the character YSAN ROCHE.

During our interview Ysan explains:

Black YELLLOW Pop is THE CYCLE OF LIFE symbolized through music. We need to embrace all negative emotions because they belong to life as much as the positive ones.

BLACK YELLLOW POP IS A SYNONYM FOR YELLING WITH A LOW VOICE. WE YELL AND REBEL WITH A LOWER VOLUME (WITH CLASS) COMPARED TO THE UNDERGROUND METAL OR MORE AGGRESSIVE ROCK GENRE.

WE EXPRESS OUR DARKEST EMOTIONS WITHOUT IDENTIFYING OURSELVES AS VICTIMS.”

Yelling with a low voice is also a synonym for expressing controversial opinions and speaking up because we are aware that only ourselves can make the first step to change our reality and our own lives for the better. It’s a highly political statement and appeals to CHANGE – the main message of Ysan Roche.

BLACK YELLOW POP IS ALSO THE GENERATION AND THE REVOLUTION OF UNDERGROUND ARTISTS THAT INITIALLY DIDN’T FIT INTO THE MAINSTREAM GENRE.

THERE IS AN APPROACH TO A MORE ANARCHISTIC WAY OF LIFE, ESPECIALLY FOR WOMEN. You can be and strong. Individuality can be expressed without one becoming a society outcast.

I can’t resist and have to ask her if her shocking identity somehow relates to Lady Gaga and if she was inspired by her.

She smiles and says: I apologize but this is rubbish. I don’t even relate to her. My message is about CHANGE – I don’t believe you are born a specific way and have to maintain ONE identity your entire life. It’s simply not what I have experienced. And to wake people up, you sometimes need to be shocking in a beautiful way. I aim to combine glamour with darkness, a very specific kind of beauty with danger. I love profundity and the mysterious side of life,I’m both a child and a grown-up woman but probably will always be more of a child. And I am extremely hungry for self-expression up to the point of being consumed in it.”

Ysan’s upcoming album VAGABONDIVA is built around her music genre Black YELLLOW Pop. The Vagabondiva is the anarchistic, wild diva wearing Haute Couture that also managed to be a business woman and is not constrained by societies gender roles. While listening to her songs I can sense the diversity of characters that are expressing themselves in songs like “Porn Identity”,”Mafia World” or “Hell is all the people (I carry inside)”.
