Renee Mc Clellan’s “Beyond The Pretty Door” is Set to Screen at The 1st Annual 4 Hearts Short Film Showcase

Chicago, IL-(July 18, 2012)- Award winning filmmaker Renee Mc Clellan’s film, Beyond The Pretty Door, is set to screen at the 1st Annual 4 Hearts Short Film Showcase, which takes place on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at The Holiday Star Theater in Park Forest, IL from noon until 3pm. The event will kick off with a red carpet press junket, followed by film screenings, and a 30-minute Q & A panel with filmmakers. Tickets are $12 at the door.

Beyond The Pretty Door is a powerful short film that explores overcoming the cycle of abuse. Writer Renee Mc Clellan says, “I want to address the “isms” of life in my films, ageism, sexism, racism, haterism and lack of money-ism. The 4 Hearts Showcase will screen a variety of inspirational and entertaining documentaries and short films from Chicago filmmakers, and will bring together organizations, companies, and community leaders in Illinois who are dedicated to creating positive change. Tio Hardiman, the director of Ceasefire Chicago, Eyes on Chicago TV host Delisa Johnson, will be among those attending the event. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to Ceasefire Chicago, an award-winning public health model that has been scientifically proven to reduce shootings and killings.
