Many Mac owners open System Settings, see a large figure labelled System Data, and find no way to look inside it. Broomkit was made for that moment. The macOS app comes from DPR Software Labs OPC Private Limited and scans the entire home folder of a Mac, including hidden directories. It then shows the full path of each file it finds before the user agrees to move anything. The app gives people a safe way to free up Mac hard drive space without guessing which folders are safe to empty. Its scan covers 16 categories, including app caches, package caches, old installers, duplicate files, simulators, Docker data, and logs. Files that Broomkit infers rather than knows, such as large files and app leftovers, start unchecked. Anything the user selects goes to the Trash, so they can restore it until they empty the Trash. The Uninstaller lists each app with its real disk size and finds leftover support files by exact bundle identifier. A Reset action clears an app's settings and data while keeping the app installed. Disk Map presents storage use as a colour-coded treemap.
"We want people to see their own numbers before they spend anything. Every path appears on screen, and every removal goes to the Trash, where it can be undone. On one test Mac, the scan found 84.8 GB of removable files. Each Mac will show a different result, and the three-day trial lets people check theirs first," said a spokesperson for Broomkit.
That 84.8 GB figure came from a single full scan of a 994 GB disk running macOS 26 on 30 August 2026, and the company measures its figures again with each release. Broomkit runs on macOS 14 or later, on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. Apple notarises it and signs it with a Developer ID. The app asks for no administrator password, installs no privileged helper and adds no login item, so it does not run in the background after it is closed. Every feature is open for three days with no account and no card. After that, a one-time license costs $34.95 for one Mac, $54.95 for two Macs or $89.95 for five Macs, and it never renews on its own.
