Candidate Frank Salazar Launches 24/7 AI Hotline to Give District 143 Voters Direct Access to Issues
Houston candidate introduces “Ana,” an AI-powered district information resource designed to answer voter questions around the clock

BriefingWire.com, 9/03/2026 - (HOUSTON, Texas) — Frank Salazar, Republican candidate for Texas House District 143, is bringing a new kind of accessibility to the campaign trail: an artificial intelligence-powered hotline available to voters 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The AI voice assistant, named Ana, is designed to answer questions about Salazar’s background, campaign priorities, understanding of District 143 and proposed approaches to issues facing families, workers and businesses throughout the district.

Rather than asking voters to rely solely on political advertising or wait for a campaign event, Salazar said the technology gives residents another way to investigate the candidate for themselves.

“If I’m asking people to trust me to represent them in Austin, they should be able to ask where I stand and what I intend to do,” Salazar said. “Government should be accessible to the people it serves. Our campaign is started with that principle from the beginning.”

Salazar is challenging Democratic state Rep. Ana Hernandez, the incumbent in House District 143. Current candidate listings confirm Salazar and Hernandez as the Republican and Democratic candidates, respectively, in the 2026 race.

Salazar recently secured the endorsement of Houston Boxing Legend and Icon Termite Watkins, Governor Abbott, and President Donald J. Trump.

Salazar’s campaign says the hotline will also draw attention to what he considers years of inadequate attention to persistent district concerns. Through Ana or the campaign team, voters can explore the campaign’s positions and Salazar’s assessment of where state representation has fallen short — and then decide for themselves whether a change in leadership is warranted. He is also making his rounds in the district to personally talk to his constituents to be.

For Salazar, the campaign is rooted less in professional politics than in personal experience.

A second-generation retired refinery worker and degreed mechanical engineer and rig and offshore platform designer, small-business owner, widower and grandfather, Salazar says he understands the pressures facing working families because he has lived many of them himself. His campaign emphasizes public service, economic opportunity, responsible government, public safety, education and accountability to constituents.

The AI initiative also reflects Salazar’s belief that elected officials should embrace technology when it can make government more responsive rather than more distant.

“A representative works for the people,” Salazar said. “That means listening, answering questions and being accountable. I want the people of this district to know that when they have a concern, somebody is paying attention.”
