Dr. Miles Madison Uses Latest Technique for Regeneration of Gum and Bone
The newest methods allow for faster recovery time and less-invasive procedures

BriefingWire.com, 9/22/2014 - Gum disease is not uncommon in adults. However, if it is left unchecked, the disease can cause gum recession, bone loss, tooth loss and more. Thus, one of the only ways to prevent the disease from gaining hold is by using a daily regimen of mouthwash, brushing and flossing no fewer than two times a day. This is because the bacteria that is the catalyst for gum inflammation can take hold in a person’s mouth in less than 48 hours. If a person fails to floss and have poor hygiene in general, then he or she is not only putting his or her oral health at risk, but their cardiac system at risk as well.

Yet, sometimes a person could have the best daily dental hygiene regimen and visits the dentist twice a year for regular checkups and manages to have gum disease take hold within their oral cavity which in turn requires the person to undergo a procedure or more to stop the disease in its tracks and reverse the damage gum disease left behind.

Gum and bone loss are two severe outcomes of advanced gum disease. Many dental professionals tell their patients that it is difficult and nearly impossible to regenerate gum tissue and bone. Thus, any procedure to rectify gum recession traditionally required a somewhat painful procedure known as a gum graft. Yet, a periodontist in Beverly Hills by the name of Miles Madison has opted to use revolutionary techniques that not only regenerate gum but bone as well.

One of the most innovative technologies he uses to treat gum recession is a laser. Lasers are ideal for treating patients with gum disease because it is gentle enough to use on patients that would not be good candidate for traditional gum grafts. Additionally, the laser has a quicker recovery time, less blood and less swelling than a gum grafting procedure.

When Dr. Madison must regrow bone he prefers to install a thin membrane to protect a pocket. The membrane provides a protective cover so bone can regrow and heal in a protective cocoon.

Dr. Madison is a periodontist and the spokesman for the Beverly Hills Periodontal Institute. He states:

Science and modern technology are moving at an accelerated rate. This allows us to manage patient’s dental care and provide them with cutting edge treatments in a manner that we thought would be virtually impossible just a few short years ago. It is an exciting time in the dental world and I can’t wait to see what other innovations are on the horizon. One thing is for sure though, if it is less invasive, offers a faster recovery time and provides minimal discomfort, you better believe that it will be in the Beverly Hills Periodontal Institute stat.
