For over two years, Emily Verrett completed three rotations with AT&T before she was charged to manage the team she helped to create. Today, Emily Verrett is proud to carry the title of Director of Mobility Sales while continuing to manage her team of 18 sellers.

Emily Verrett however was not new to management when AT&T hired her fulltime. She had two past management positions in between her undergrad and graduate years. The first management position that Emily Verrett held was when she lived and worked in Washington D.C.

After she had completed her bachelor’s degree Emily Verrett moved to Washington D.C. where she found work at the lobbying firm Denny Miller Associates. She started out entry level performing basic tasks but quickly worked her way up to Operations and Events Manager. From this managerial position, Emily Verrett oversaw a number of political fundraisers. During her time at as Operations and Events Manager, Emily Verrett directly oversaw over 20 fundraisers.

Emily Verrett worked for Denny Miller Associates from 2004 but decided to return to Texas in 2006. It was in September 2006 that she began her new positions as Project Manager and Events Manager for Gerson Lehrman Group in Austin, Texas. “As Project and Events Manager I oversaw more than 250 events every year and had the responsibility of all the logistical work for the Legal, Economic, and Regulatory Affairs practice,” says Emily Verrett.

Emily Verrett’s position as manager at Gerson Lehrman Group lasted until 2008 when she decided to pursue her Master’s in Business Administration at Southern Methodist University. While Emily Verrett continues to work in a management position, she is not new to the role. She knows all the work that goes behind management and is thankful for her years of experience.
