Former Democratic JP George Risner crosses party lines as Houston icon Termite Watkins and award-winning business leader Caroline Kane endorse Ezell

BriefingWire.com, 8/31/2026 - (HOUSTON, TX) — Attorney Jack Ezell’s campaign for Harris County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2, Place 2, is gaining support from leaders across judicial, business and community circles, including former Democratic Justice of the Peace George Risner, Houston icon Termite Watkins and award-winning business leader and Forbes real estate contributor Caroline Kane.

Risner, who previously held the Precinct 2, Place 2 bench, crossed party lines to endorse Ezell, saying experience, integrity and fair treatment before the courts should transcend partisan politics.

“As the former Democratic Justice of the Peace for Precinct 2, Place 2 in Harris County, I have always believed in fiscal responsibility, transparency, public safety and, above all, the fair and impartial treatment of litigants,” Risner said.

Risner said Ezell’s experience and legal background make him the best person to serve in his former judicial position.

The endorsement is joined by Caroline Kane, a property management CEO, award-winning business leader and Forbes real estate contributor. Kane said justice courts have a direct impact on families, small businesses and residential and commercial property owners.

“The Justice of the Peace is our front-line defense for small businesses, families, and both residential and commercial property owners,” Kane said, adding that Precinct 2 needs someone who knows the law, applies it and keeps the docket moving.

Termite Watkins, a Houston icon, boxing legend, entrepreneur and longtime champion for youth through Fighter Nation, has also endorsed Ezell.

Watkins cited the need for community-minded judges who understand how court backlogs affect working families, small businesses and property owners.

“Jack is one of these servant-leaders who is running for the right reasons,” Watkins said. “He is in the ring for you and your family.”

Ezell said the growing coalition reflects what his campaign is ultimately about: restoring confidence that the people’s court will work for the people.

Ezell has pledged to address judicial absenteeism and court backlogs through consistent courtroom

leadership and responsible docket management. He also advocates judicial restraint, arguing that judges should apply the law fairly and impartially rather than legislate from the bench.

“Justice should not depend on your political party, your income or who you know,” Ezell said. “People deserve a judge who shows up, knows the law, moves the docket and treats everyone before the court with dignity and fairness.”

Ezell is seeking election as Harris County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2, Place 2.
