FORT LAUDERDALE, FL— April 29, 2015— Starting on Saturday, May 23rd, South Florida locals will have the opportunity to shop for a cause at Shoppe Hope and C&I Studio’s Fort Vintage Flea Market. Fort Vintage Flea Market will take place every third Saturday of the month from 9am to a 1pm at the C&I Studios Garden located at 516 NW 1st Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301. ?Shoppe Hope and C&I Studio’s’ aim is to gather a league of loyal vendors and customers through a unique shopping experience of tightly-curated vendors, artisanal food stalls and handmade items at the studio’s outdoor event space. This market, inspired by markets like the iconic Brooklyn Flea, will provide a venue for anyone in the community to sell their collectables, relics, and hard to find vintage items. ?
Israel (Izzy) Pagan, Jr. Director of Social Enterprise Hope South Florida, has dreams of this market becoming a foundation for community interaction and collaboration. ?
According to Pagan, “Part of our mission statement [at Hope South Florida] is loving community; without a loving community you can’t have a city or an area that progresses. If we’re not working together, we’re working against each other. The Fort Vintage Flea represents our desire to bring this community together in a way that other major metro markets have done in the past.”?
Josh Miller, Owner of C&I Studios, shares Pagan’s passion of developing a hub for local engagement. According to Miller, “It’s about adding events to the calendar—things that we think are exciting and are also family friendly.”?
Each market will incorporate a unique DIY element, such as a Pinterest-inspired DIY Denim Bar presented by Shoppe Hope. Vendor Fees are $50 for a 10x10 area, $75 for a 10x20 area and $50 for a Food Tent. These vendor fees will directly benefit HOPE South Florida. To reserve a booth at the first Fort Vintage Flea, vendors should email Izzy Pagan directly at ipagan@hopesouthflorida.com.?
A portion of the proceeds from Fort Vintage Flea will directly benefit Hope South Florida, a 501(c)3 non-profit that has been helping the homeless community throughout South Florida for over 20 years.
