What To Do When Someone Dies

After a person dies, their death should be registered within 5 days. If they died in a hospital, a doctor will provide you with a certificate and your funeral director can liaise with the hospital to arrange transportation for the body. Similarly, in a hospice or nursing home, they will provide you with a certificate and be in communication with your funeral director. If they died at home, the doctor will need to be called to certify this and provide a certificate. The body can then be taken to the funeral home.
