Becoming General Motors youngest Dealer Principal, Vice President and General Manager for Jules and Jerry Kutner. In 1989, becoming Chrysler's youngest dealer where they previously had 5 owners in 4 years. Thus the birth of "The Gary Barbera Group".

His career thus far has generated more than 3 billion in sales. Winning all of Chrysler and General Motors highest accolades soon thereafter, partnering with Philadelphia Cares along side with then Mayor Edward G. Rendell starting Gary Barbera Cares supporting hundreds upon hundreds both monetary and through volunteering upon hours and hours from advocacy, animals, arts and culture, board and development, children and youth, community, crisis and disaster relief, hunger, homeless and housing, people with disabilities, sports and recreation, veterans and military families, etc., morphing into what is know throughout the Tri-State as "Gary Barbera Cares and Keeps on Caring."
