The Problem

For decades, British media has influenced political outcomes, often with open bias.

? In 1992, The Sun famously declared “It’s The Sun Wot Won It” after claiming credit for a

Conservative victory.

? By 2024, even historically Conservative-supporting newspapers conceded Labour would

win, proving how dramatically the tide had turned.

? Since then, many outlets have evolved into “viewspapers” — where opinions matter

more than facts.

Today, the commentary surrounding government actions is overwhelmingly negative.

Meanwhile, the failures of the previous administration (14 years in power) go largely

unchallenged, and outlets instead promote another party as the “most likely winner” of an

election still four years away.

By all journalistic standards, predicting victory for a party with only 5 MPs out of 650, no costed

policies, and the most divisive leader since Boris Johnson is not serious journalism. It is bias

and manipulation

The days when the public had influence only once every five years at the ballot box are gone.

True democracy requires ongoing accountability and citizen driven action.

If we remain silent, our children will grow up in a culture of insecurity, hate, and division. But if

we act now, even in small ways, we can shift the tone of public life — and pass on a more

secure, decent society to future generations.
