Harris County Sheriff Race in Run-off - Critical for Houston
Experienced Candidate Paul Day Results Forces Competition Against “Slates”

BriefingWire.com, 3/05/2020 - (Houston, Texas) – Paul Day has been a tireless and relentless candidate for Sheriff, retiring from the Houston Police Department (HPD) in 2008 and is endorsed by the Retired HPD Officers Association, is actively serving now as a Master Peace Officer Sheriff Deputy in North Harris County (Spring area), and has run for Harris County Sheriff beginning in 1992.

“Most people would have quit by now,” said Andy Valadez, U.S. Marine Veteran and Marketing Strategist, who has been assisting his campaign, “I was excited to learn about his history, qualifications, commitment to serving the people of Harris County, and the results in the primary were amazing. The Harris County Sheriff’s race is critical for Texas and has the attention of political leaders in our region, the state, and across the nation. Harris County has become ground-zero for the installation of a Constitutional Sheriff in a major metropolis USA.”

Paul Day garnered 47,165 votes and retired police lieutenant Randy Rush received 36,647 forcing a run-off with Constable Joe Danna who received 79,051. The Paul Day campaign recently received and is thankful for the endorsement from Randy Rush. The run-off between Paul Day and Joe Danna will be May 26, 2020.

“Randy Rush has the experience and would have made a very good Sheriff given his professional background, and I am extremely grateful to have his endorsement and support,” said Paul Day.

“I am also thankful for our election team and network who worked tirelessly to get us within reach. We only spent about $10,000 on our campaign and did not participate in the pay-to-play slates that are popular in these elections,” said Paul Day, “I think the ‘slates’ model enables politicians with deep pockets to secure paid endorsements and advertising reach to voters who are none-the-wiser and back some unqualified candidates.”

The Paul Day for Sheriff Campaign recently announced that Harris County will become a firearms sanctuary when he takes office, will be committed to pro-life protections, improving training and reducing redundancy in our police forces, protecting the rights of our citizens, and that Houston, Harris County will no longer be a sanctuary city for illegal immigration to support the efforts of President Donald J. Trump in regards to protecting the community at-large from organized criminal activity to include government officials who organize against the law.

Conservative Christian and public servant Paul Day has served the greater Houston community for over 40 years as Peace Officer and early member and trainer for Houston SWAT, and is highly respected and honored among his peers and those he has served in the community. In addition to his policing career, he served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant at Arlington Cemetery, once holding a White House Access Security Clearance, and was honorably discharged after his term of service in the early 70’s.
